The Changing Weather is Murder on My Skin Dear Karen,Whats up with the September weather? One day its hot and the next day its cold and windy. My skin is starting to feel traumatized. I have very sensitive skin and any weather change affects it. I have been struggling for years with skin care products, but I just never know which products to use or which skin care line to purchase. I heard you are an expert in the field and thought you might be able to help lead me down the right path. My skin goes from feeling oily one day to dry and dehydrated the next. I am so tired of never knowing if its going to look like a grease pit or like an old dried out leather shoe. Please help!

Dear Patty,
Congratulations on taking the first step and asking for help. It is so important to take your skin seriously, its the largest living organ you have and needs special attention and care to remain in its optimal condition. Never take your skin for granted if you dont want it to age prematurely. If the skin is neglected in terms of internal and external care, over time, the negative effects will show up on your skin for the whole world to see dehydration, wrinkles, large pores, sun damage, age spots, and sagging.
Many skin problems such as unbalanced skin hydration can be helped immensely with a quality skin care line, diet, supplements, and exercise. Look for a skin care treatment line that has been formulated with potent anti-aging ingredients such as Lactic Acid (12% AHA), vitamin C, tocopheryl acetate, chlorella, hyaluronate, lipid barrier blend, bioflavinoids, retinyl palmitate, and franesol, for balancing the skins hydration level. The following skin care routine is what I recommend to my clients (to be done morning and night) and mask twice a week with Purifying Rejuvenating Masque:
- Ultimate One Step Cleanser
- Soothing Refining Grains
- Ultra Lactic AHA Treatment (12%)
- Firming C Eye & Throat Crème
- Forever Younger Moisturizer
- Lipid Balancer
Also be sure to take a good multi-vitamin daily, eat a well balanced diet, and exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-90 minutes. Other supplements that are excellent for maintaining healthy skin are Colostrum, Lactoferrin, Hyaluronic acid, DMAE, Alpha Lipoic acid, and Collagen.
